Engine bay protection. Exhaust shielding. From the production line to the road.
Modern vehicles — from passenger cars to heavy municipal fleets — generate extreme temperatures in and around the engine bay. Exhaust manifolds, turbochargers and brake assemblies routinely exceed temperatures that will degrade unprotected cables, fuel lines and wiring harnesses within months.
S Riley Fabrications firesleeve is specified by OEM manufacturers, aftermarket installers and commercial fleet operators across the UK to protect these critical systems. Continuous protection at 260°C, with the ability to withstand radiant heat and molten splash at 1200°C.
Made in Burnley. Supplied to specification.
Protects loom cables running close to exhaust manifolds and turbochargers from sustained radiant heat — preventing insulation breakdown and intermittent electrical faults.
Firesleeve over fuel lines and hydraulic brake lines reduces the risk of fire ignition from exhaust proximity — a critical safety measure in both passenger and commercial vehicles.
Wraps around exhaust pipes and downpipes to reduce radiated heat reaching surrounding components — particularly valuable in tight engine bays and underbody runs.
Refuse collection vehicles operate complex hydraulic systems — compaction mechanisms, lifting arms and tailgate rams — all running hoses close to hot exhaust components. In a fire, an unprotected hydraulic hose can rupture and spray pressurised fluid directly onto an ignition source, rapidly accelerating the spread of flame.
Firesleeve over hydraulic hose runs provides a critical barrier in these scenarios — containing the hose long enough to prevent fluid spray and giving the driver time to stop safely. It also extends everyday service life on hoses exposed to the constant radiant heat of stop-start urban operation.
Where tolerances are tighter and heat is more extreme, firesleeve protects sensor wiring, oil and coolant lines in race and rally applications.
Our Hook & Loop Retrofit sleeve can be applied to existing installations without disconnecting lines — ideal for service centres and fleet maintenance teams.
Six properties that matter most in automotive environments.
For new-build installations, standard Firesleeve slips over cables and hoses before fitting — available from 4mm to 203mm internal diameter. For retrofit and maintenance work where lines can't be disconnected, our Hook & Loop Retrofit sleeve wraps around in place and secures with a continuous hook-and-loop closure.
Both products are made to order in Burnley and supplied in 15-metre coils or cut lengths. Contact our sales team for sizing, pricing and lead times.
